Profile
The Werribee Obedience Dog Club Inc. is a community-based non-profit voluntary organisation whose aim is to promote and educate dog owners regarding responsible dog ownership and basic obedience training. The Club first started back in 1976. The Club consists of a friendly, helpful group of people and new members are always welcome.
The club is affiliated with the Victorian Canine Association Inc, now known as Dogs Victoria.
Our Committee and Instructors are all un-paid volunteers who give their time freely towards providing this service to the local community.
Dogs of all breeds and ages and sizes are trained at the Club and it does not matter whether you wish to train your dog to competitive trialing standard or simply to teach the basics and have an obedient family pet.
We have classes ranging from Puppies to trial standard. We teach basic heeling, sit, drop, stays, recall and socialisation.
We have staggered training times, starting with Puppies and Class 1 commencing at 1.30pm, then 2.30pm & 3.30pm. Training is conducted in a class structure. Class sessions go for approximately 50 minutes. You can purchase leads and various collars from the club at reasonable prices.
As a precaution, our Club requires its members to have their dogs fully vaccinated prior to joining and annually. If you wish to join the Club it is essential that you bring along your dogs current vaccination card. We accept puppies 2 weeks after their final vaccination. Also the vaccination card must be sighted annually with each renewal of membership.
Our Club does not run Puppy Kinder/Pre-school for very young puppies hence most puppies are approximately between 16-18 weeks old when they join our Club. We recommend contacting your local vet and sign up for a Puppy Kinder course first, before joining us.
